Although a 3/4 will easily be taken by anyone 6ft or above. They're only a few inches larger than a single.
You could fit two peeps into a double, with only limited tactical manoeuvring. Anything less, and you dare not move in fear of squashing the other person.

Helped me out when I had to sort my new bed. Ikea use european nomenclature iirc which confused things a touch

I had a year in halls during which I perfected the art of fitting 2 people in a single bed, a 4 foot (3/4) bed is nowhere near like that, there's plenty of room for 2 people, unless you both hate each other and don't want to have to touch, at all, ever.You could fit two peeps into a double, with only limited tactical manoeuvring. UK terminology is as follows:
A bed can be made any size. Usually described according to width
i.e. 3ft= "single" size
4ft= 3/4 or "small" double
4ft 6in= "double"
ALL of the above are standard sizes AND are ALL 6ft 3in long as standard.
5ft= "King" size
6ft= "SuperKing" size
ALL of the above are 6ft 6in long (in fact any bed over 4ft 6in wide is automatically made 6ft 6in long unless requested otherwise.)
In this country there is NO standard understanding of "Queen" size as a definition-it's mostly an "American-ism" & is certainly NOT between any of the above sizes.
