Took S out for a little drive just now. Moved the heat control slider - though it felt loose all of a sudden (though not 100% familiar with the car as yet as not had her very long). Oh dear.. clouds of steam through the dash vents whilst the heater fan is on. Heater matrix maybe?

Which slider? If it was the hot/cold slider, that controls the water flow through the matrix so it's conceivable that extra pressure was enough to spring the leak. frown

The other slide - cabin <> demist. Feels loose, pretty sure felt rather more connected before today.

Sounds strange - did the steam effect last long/did you lose any water or could it be some moisture burning away so to speak??

The should not be any water in the heater as it does not have a fresh air inlet - it draws air from inside the cabin.
Ever wondered why it steams up so much !!??

Was a LOT of steam - had to pullover for a while as I could barely see the road. Was no sign of it quitting; the irony was that I turned the blowers up to full to try and clear it, making it much worse. Came straight home, will check levels & start investigating over the weekend.
