Right the pickle we're in?!

About a month ago a couple of friends of ours suggested that they were going to have a big New Years do, So we all agreed and said yep that would be a good idea, The couple who are hosting the bash then asked me and my OH to arrange most of it invites, drinks, what food to have.

Now we said we would rather not have to organise someone elses doo so said to the couple best if they do it in case something goes wrong.

So since then up to yesterday we have herd not a bean from said couple and arranged to go to a different house party at another one of friends houses, so booked a hotel room for the night with the intention of stumbling to the hotel once the eveing has finished and finish the night in our own style

Now I have received a text from girly saying it will be fancy dress with a big?? buffet loads of drinks and other bits.

So the pickle I'm in now is that the hotel we are staying in is closer to the doo we're already going to and I'm just a little pissed that they have left it so late to confirm everything when surely everyone has now confirmed all plans for the evening.

SO what do we do, do we?
1: Go to the one we have already agreed to and run the risk of falling out with other couple

or

2: One of us drives to said fancy dress have few bevs there and silently sneak off to the other doo whilst no-one is looking.

Go to the one you agreed to go to in the first place. It’s your own fault; you should have spoken to them before they ‘jogged’ your memory!

I'd go to the first one for the majority of the evening and then perhaps leave after 12 to go to the other.
