Somhow, I've managed to knacker the crown of my Tauchmeister Divers watch. Basically, the thread is phooked, so although i can adjust the hands, and it still tells the time, a screw crown with no thread makes the watch as useful as t*ts on a fish!!

Anybody know if it can be repaired? - I've spoken to Nick, but I didn't get it from Werners, so there isn't much he can do. My local Jeweller couldn't help either.

It wan't an expensive watch, but I'd hate to have to bin it.

any sensible suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers,

CP

I've had good experiences here http://www.watchdoctors.co.uk/ had a Rolex GMT serviced and parts replaced and an Omega serviced, all good, no problems, good price too.

Dominic, thanks for that - the OH also suggested that. However, in the meantime, I looked at the guarantee card again - only to confirm that the crown is excluded from the warranty!!!, but found an e-mail address at aeromatic1912.com (probably goes to the same person, but hey-ho) and have fired off a quick e-mail to them. We'll see if I get a reply.

It is a shame, because around the house, I'm having to wear a Renault Sport Chrono which the OH pestered me into buying (I had a ClioSport 197 at the time) - keeps ok time, but the date changes are crap to say the least - theh Tauchmeister was looking like a really good everyday beater.

Thread on the crown or thread on the case? If the latter you might argue that it is covered by the guarantee?

Failing that try Steve at Ryte Time Watch Repairs - good, quick and very reasonably priced.
