Lunch Harrogate Area

Looking to take her indoors out for a nice lunch tommorrow (for her b'day), not too bothered what type of food but after somewhere with good quality food.


Any ideas?

The Brasserie on Cheltenham Parade

Tannin Level on Raglan Street

The Drum and Monkey on Montpellier Gardens

Haven't been for ages but it is a great place in an unusual old house setting.

Not been for a while but Courts Crown Place was also really good....the chef (used to know him) looked like scorpio from Dirty Harry/Magnum Force or one of those. We used to pop in for a pint and he would hate it when we used to sing 'row row row ya boat' in the psycho way.....suppose you had to be there.

Ye old punch bowl Marton near Boroughbridge not far from the A1. Not sure what its like but it featured on the tv show about Neil Morrissey and his chef mate making their own beer. Now run by them.

Malt Shovel in Brearton seems to be getting a good reputation. I prefered it when you could walk to it and go in complete with muddy dogs but its gone rather upmarket.

I would not recommend the Blue Boar in Ripley or the place just out past Markington.

Aye, exactly! Is it more expensive for a window seat?
I once had a chat to a woman who's job was to source tea & coffee for Bettys. Travelled the world and basically lived the life of riley.

Daft as it seems, the actual meals in Betty's seem more realistically priced than the cream teas, and it is very nice.

I was just suggesting it as a special occasion thing that would be a treat.
