...is there an outlet in the UK? Trying to see if they ship to uk but no luck on website (admittedly it may be printed somewhere too obvious for me to see)

My recommendation for Comp would be Speed Inc:

http://www.speedinc.com/index.cfm

Search under Pontiac GTO for the cams page and all the popular grinds are listed. You might want to email Fraser for help hius address will be on there.

If the grind you want is made also made by Crane you could get one within days from Knight Racing Services at Daventry.

Don't forget a set of aftermarket valve springs to suit and some HD push rods of the right length if you are going wild.

Cheers Mate.

I ended up getting away without push rods, even though the base circle on the new cam was smaller than stock. Don't know how, but it measured up when done. I will be putting new HD units in when I do the other mods. If you are going pretty mild and cam only you should "get away" with it.

How have you arrived at your spec?

BTW I have been around but not had anything to say for a change. Happy New year.

Well, for a man who flosses with tampax string, I wasn't surprised!

I wasn't flossin I was grindin.

Anyway back to the cam, I did my research, spoke to Richard too and based on what I read the 220/224 seemed to give me the power I am after whilst being mild enough for emissions and standard rods (though I'll prob change them). Read a few good write ups of this profile with stock heads and for the cost difference between a cam and a cam + heads and with my aims I felt this cam to be the profile to go for though I can still be persuaded otherwise.

Which grind did you go for? I've seen the guide to doing the swap out but I'll be in chats with both Roger and KRS to look at options

How did you measure lifter pre-load ??

It really is a PITA, but a pushrod checker really does help. If the base circle is smaller, and no other parts have changed...you will only have a small window to play with before different length pushrods are a must.

as a matter of course I will probably change the rods, now wishing I had bought those lifters that were for sale a few weeks ago. From the install reviews I had read on the 220/224 the standard rods could be retained
