Posting a painting to Australia

I am wanting to post a painting Air Mail to Australia.

It is 90 x 10 x 64cm and weighs under 5kg.

I am getting results back from DHL at over £150.

Can someone recommend me a carrier that can ship it cheaper, as my uncle is not worth that.

It seems some carriers class paintings in the same catergory as antiques, but it clearly isn't.

Put it in a big glass bottle, cork it and lob it into the sea, just off Cornwall. It'll get there eventually.

To be honest, that isn't bad for antique rates.
Inter parcel want £69 via UPS.

How valuable (sentimentally, not just monetarily) is it?

You could trawl Gumtree and offer someone 50 quid to take it on a plane with them (properly packed, it would fine in the hold).
