What with it being 10 years of Pistonheads, I put a post on TVR general gassing asking if this was the very first Pistonheads meet? I was there, just wondering if any original members still have their cars? Unfortuately I forgot my camera that day, would be great to see some shots of that day if anyone has any? What happened to Dave's (petrol Teds) old car? Happy days!

Are you thinking of the first meeting at VW? If so, I was there and still have the 'S'.

The day of that 1st VW meet was the day I picked up my S. I tried to get back in time, but failed. The irony being that I live about a mile away from VW!

Don't have it now - but do still miss it cry

I sold it to a PHer - who in turn sold it to another PHer - and now it's in the classifieds: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/833502.htm

Indeed I remember the TVRCC e-mail forum when it was run on a server at Reading University (was that the domino list?) by a chap with a Grantura, can't remember his name but recollect there was some issues about it moving to Yahoo groups and then Dave set up Pistonheads and the chat forum.

What puzzles me is that I created a Pistonheads log-on immediately Dave set it up which was 1999 but if you look at the "member since months" counter it says 101 months which doesn't tally. I suppose it was 10 years ago! Odd...

Wasn't it John Upham??

Certainly remember Steve Heath, Roop, Adam etc.
It was when Dave created the forum part to his TVR S website that most mail list member moved there. Then that became PH.

With all the talk of the FIRST S meet.

Dizzee is sorting out another date for a VW meet April time.
Spring drive out and meet.

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Not many S's there over the last couple of years. Might be limited to us Southerners.
Keep an eye on this thread in events for more details.

10 years after the first - Lets see your S's... shout

I was at the first VW meeting. Mine is the green one next to the white one with tinted plates. Still have it along with a Griff, was it really 10 years ago? Going to respray it this year along with a few other sexy upgrades. Will post pics as it happens.

I was there, although my S1 was at home suffering from the well known 1"MOT failure of the trailing arms" syndrome. I'm sure I have some pictures of the mass exodus somewhere. The meeting at VW helped to motivate me to get the car on the road again, so the S was at the second meeting, and one of the Silverstone S Club meets. A renewed interest in TVR meant I even got a Griffith.

I sold the S earlier this year; after 17 years of ownership. I still have the Griffith.
