If public executions were brought back in the UK would you attend?

Basically - in light of quite a few threads on here i'm just wondering how many people would go along for a days entertainment and watch a hanging / electrocution / stoning / whatever was decided as suitable?

I don't agree one bit with capital punishment but I think I would attend, just out of morbid curiosity.

Bring it back for kiddy fiddlers & I recon you'd fill a stadium every week. The revenue could go towards running the rest of the prison system.

Why would I want to watch the state kill someone? Entertainment? No thanks.

To put a spin on things....

Would you go to watch the execution if the crime was personal to you in some way? Say if the person had killed a family member?

Like you can go watch the electric chair in America.

Still no.

Would you visit them in jail if that was the sentence rather than death?

No.

I would like to see the return of capital and corporal punishments, but definately not for spectators amusement.

I agree with bringing back the Death Penalty for certain individuals (ie paedophilles etc), but would not feel the need to go and watch!
That being said, I would happily dispatch anyone who hurt my family without any hesitation!!

I wouldn't go see a public execution either way.

I just wondered if people could be emotionally swayed to go. Something more on a personal level as opposed to Sunday morning entertainment.

You would have to sit there for a long time to watch them serve there sentence.

I guess its more of an instant relief if the said person is executed. (if they had done something to your family, murder etc)

I wouldn't watch but that doesn't mean I don't endorse capital punishment.
