Changing battery

Hi guys

Have kept my battery on trickle charge for the last 2 wks as not in use, then did a mammoth journey or 230 mile each with an over night stop in between left car outside temp dropped to -3 started OK the next morning came back put in garage and left for a couple of days but didn't put it back on trickle charge went to start and it just about turn over but not enough to start, luckily i had bought a set of anderson jump leads so got it going, went about 30 mile and stopped it then started straight away, so i am thinking that the battery is not holding its charge for more that about 24hrs which means new battery i presume, so my question is:

When i replace the battery is it straight forward, or is there a procedure to be followed because of the alarm and the electronic dash etc etc, or can i simply unplug old battery and replace, once i have of course jacked the car up and removed the wheel.

The only difficult bit is getting the battery in and out, its in a right awkward place! And being reasonably heavy its quite tricky..

Simple change over though, I done mine though had read about certain electronic problems.

Check that the hatch courtesy light (or anything else) is not left on draining the battery.

When removing the battery remove the negative first.

When replacing connect and tighten the positive first, then the negative.

Would repeat what's been said above - check nothing's draining current first. Have tended to find TVR batteries are good for about 5 years in the past, maybe a little less.

Jack up, remove N/S front wheel, take out two screws from the covering panel, then "simply" switch batteries. (When I say "simply", it was a bit of a pig from memory!)
