Alien hand syndrome

I was reading about this the other day: having a hand which basically does what it likes and is capable of quite complex motor skills such as using tools and even writing. Theory is that it taps the unconscious and the hand takes instructions from there directly without the conscious inhibition.

I was thinking how useful it would be to get a diagnosis if this syndrome to blame for, well anything. Coupled with tourettes it could be a ticket to be a complete lunatic?

I think I would start at the local adult ladies netball club.

I have this affliction, although it generally only effects my right thumb when holding a mobile phone!

My wife has strating teling people I have tourettes so she sin't embarrased by my 'inappropriate' comments but this alien hand adds a whole new dimension.

You should do something about your alien hand and that thumb and stop it phoning people and making their lives miserable.
