Ok so this might be a dumb question! smile

My water heater is costing me an absolute fortune to run, so i am coming to the conclusion that i am using it incorrectly.

It is on for 1.5hrs a day and doesnt heat the water that much... it also uses 4.5kw in this time (60p).

The heater is an OSO 210 Direct, and from the website it looks like it has a 3kw element. The brochure says it takes 175mins to heat the tank properly, which is nearly 3hrs and 9kw (£1.25 a day!). It also says that energy loss over 24hrs is 2kw. So does this mean that if i run it 24/7 then it will only use 2kw a day?

My apologies for the stupid questions... but i don't understand tongue out

Yes if you use no hot water at all.

I'm guessing that means that it'll lose 2Kw (at some particular temperature (60 deg, guess))

Any water you heat up will be additional to this
