I figured that one of the highest points in London will be a great spot to see in the New Year. Of course, central London has its obvious advantages.

However, my wife and I have an early start - a journey up north - and dont really fancy getting stuck in the traffic and the mayhem of driving in to central and then getting home late. The tube system will obviously be a nightmare.

Anyone spent New Year's Eve on HH? Ordinarily, not the place to be wondering around late at night but I would think tonight is an exception.

I remember parking being a problem in the past during weekdays. Any thoughts on this too please?

Many thanks.

Parking will be a mare. Where are you travelling in from?

Hampstead Heath, at bedtime, up a tree? With a bear? It can only mean one thing!

Top of Parliament Hill will be a good spot from which to watch fireworks around the city.

Hampstead Heath? At midnight? I'm betting you'll be bumping into this guy.

I have been thinking something very similar.

Im going for dinner at my fav restaurant in the west end for 8pm and then will be trying to hit southbank for the fireworks but worried we wont get to see them.

Its the first time going into central, usually i would party in some grimey club but with the missus ths year and want to see it in right.

So was thinkng HH or ally pally as i live in muswell hill and you can see all of London from the top of ally pally, is it worth the hassel of being in the crowds! all depends on the wather me thinks!

Do you trawl this forum for chances to use that picture? If so, well done that man. This thread and that picture are a perfect match... clap

Damn, my master plan is uncovered. I just love shoe horning it in. As, I would imagine, does he.

Remember to wish George Micheal and Kevin Spacey happy new year.
