Flying into Luxor on 19 January and haven't got visas yet. Don't really want to send passports away right now as need them for domestic flight id next week for Autosports show.

It used to be possible to buy a visa on arrival at Luxor / Aswan / Cairo airports - I know the Red Sea resorts have slightly different rules for the day trippers! - is this still the case?

The websites I found don't mention on arrival visas, just the send away in advance stuff - or I may be looking in the wrong place!

I went to Sharm in July and they were doing them in the airport at that time.

Got mine when I flew into Sharm in October. Think it was £10.

if you are going to sharm you dont need a visa if you intend to stay in the area. saves a few quid and an extra queue. if you do need one (think you do if you are going on a diving boat but not sure) they were priced in dollars though im sure they take any ccy.
