Walsall restaurants any suggestions?

Its only 19 miles up the M6 from the NEC according to google maps, and my OH is insistent about using the prize she won in a raffle at work of the "executive suite". We live in Herts, but she also views it as a chance to get away from the kids for a night.
Personally I would rather sleep in my own coffin than in the "Park Hotel" in Walsall, but the reviews don't seem too bad. I think she is going to be disappointed with Walsall though, I think she thinks its an exotic location.

Walsall is pretty much as grim as life gets in the UK. I certainly wouldn't recommend any romantic evening walks!Personally I would rather sleep in my own coffin than in the "Park Hotel" in Walsall, but the reviews don't seem too bad. N.B. It may only be 19 miles, but they are the longest 19 miles in the world. Regularly a couple of hours worth!

Don't talk it up now will you! Oh I am really looking forwards to this......
I suppose the PH show will make it worthwhile.
Hotel looks ok, and that area of Walsall is not as bad as they are making out!I suppose the PH show will make it worthwhile.
Eat at the Hotel? Or stop off on the way back?
If you are at the show, you won't get much time for much else (unless you hate the show!)
The traffic from there to the NEC won't be 'too' bad, on a weekend, Ikea doesn't have a sale on...
