430 , 360 or what?
Discussion
mulling over buying a ferrari but far from knowledgeable about the models. get the impression that the 430 is to ferraris what the boxster is to porkers ie sanitised, not quite the real thing but am I right? have ferraris become more civilised and less of a sports car as time has gone on? should I consider an older model in which case, which one bearing in mind I'm not interested in spending humungous amounts each year on services. or parts. though I suppose the running costs of an older model could be cancelled out by much lower depreciation.
and are ferraris with more than a couple of thousand miles a year really difficult to sell as I've been told?

havent got a budget as such - can afford a new one. that said I want to spend as little as I can since the money was hard earned and I've no hang ups about second hand. in fact I would prefer it since the depreciation on new is likely to upset me greatly.
havent had a look at a lambo yet but will do so. for the moment its the ferrari name thats attractive. childish I know but might as well be honest.

I'll probably get flamed for saying this but although Ferrari has the F1 and racing heritage, Lamborghini is probably the more prestigious/desirable brand on the road and in any non F1 environment.Definitely look at the Lambo Gallardo which is a good second hand buy. If money is not an object, as you state, and you definitely want a Ferrari then get the 430 as it is probably the best Ferrari currently available (not taking into account the Enzo and F40/F50's).
A Lambo Gallardo Superlegerra would be my choice with the Ferrari 430 Scuderia a close second.
However for probably £40K cheaper a standard Gallardo or standard 430 are also good cars.

Well in my humble opinion, having owned several porsche's a Ferrari 360 and now a Lambo Murci, I tried a 430 a couple of months ago and found it rather aesthetic. I would personally would put my money into a 360 Modena or ultimately if budgets allow, a Challenge Stradale.
But I must agree with the others that Lamborghini are on a real role at the moment. Forget the b
ks that they cost a fortune to run. If you buy a good one from a reputable dealer you'll be fine. Care for it and it cares for you. Not suggesting a Murci as their a bit technical to drive if its your first supercar but Gallardo's are a really good purchase.
...supercool, superfast, and reliable.
SO...
1st Gallardo / Challenge Stradale
very close 2nd 360 Modena

Dont know where you got that info from but the 430 is nothing like the boxtser is to porsche.
The 430 is the best of the lot. Extremely fast, best F1 paddle on the market, very fast on the track. If money is no object then IMO the 430 scuderia is the best option; stripped out road racer.
From what you said in your post you need to go and drive one.

What sort of budget are you looking at? Much better to get a 355 within easy budget than stretch for a 430 I would imagine.....
