I'm thinking of going for a VXR8 so mine might be for sale (depending on how impressive the VXR8 is!!). UK spec, supercharged, rip shifter, AP brake upgrade, road response / rear end pac, private plate etc (pic on my profile). Feel free to call me on 07808 971304 if you're interested.

"Occupation: Technical Director - car care products"

hopefully it is a nice clean example, or is it like the painter with the unpainted house.

Have you looked in Autotrader, Exchange & Mart, Ebay, Pistonheads classifieds etc?

'cos that's where cars for sale often are.

The older model prices are holding high. I think at a push you might be able to find a vxr8 for £19k or even £18k
For the extra you will get a warranty and 10 years newer technology.. well kind of engine and trans are much the same unless you spring for the auto, which is an option you dont have on the older model.
Plus if you look at the recent dyno day results the older model with an SC puts down around 370rwhp, which is only 10rwhp more than my stock vxr8 with a cold air intake and roller rockers.

I think you should drive a new vxr8. Also more likely to be rust free etc, lower miles etc.

I have seen this car - it is NOT a HSV - it's a CAPA F385 (modded Monaro 2002 model- V2?) with further mods by 'who knows' to take it to around 800hp. When I saw it, it was a bit shabby (and the clutch was f**ked)- didn't look like it had been well looked after (scuffed wheels, scratches in bodywork, damaged leather).

It is one of the first monaro's styling. All the Monaro's that were sold here were VY-VZ models, that one is a VX model.

There are. However on a Monaro Forum at least half of us tend to like monaro's.
Saying that my comment was tongue in cheek as was I'm sure hsv rulz. Take it as you like. A lot of us have welcomed you and tried to help with regards your search for a car. Throwing out an insult isn't very friendly is it.
