100mhz motionpro 2 - worth the extra £250?

Title pretty much sums it up, for any of you with panasonic LCD sets, trying to decide between the 37LZD80 and 37LZD85 panels. Seems this 100mhz motionpro 2 is the only real difference in the tech spec.

Is it really worth an extra £250?!

I don't know what it is, but I would say no if that's the only difference between the two sets.

You really ought to be buying a plasma though, you know.

100Hz - worth the extra if you watch a lot of fast paced material (movies/sport), but as suggested, if you're going 37", go with the PX80 plasma.
Then again, if you need the higher resolution for PC hook-up, and sat close enough to benefit from it with HD material, then you would be better to look at the 42PZ80/81/85 for the extra ££.

42" is too big for the room (well for my taste anyway)

PX80 isn't 1080p - I only use the telly for watching films and was getting a bluray at the same time.

Don't need a 1080 native TV to watch B-R movies - it'll downscale to match the 768 pixels it'll have as an HD Ready TV, unless you're sat close enough to make use of both HD resolutions - 720p or 1080p, otherwise you'll not notice any real tangible difference over regular DVD and SD broadcast material.
If the 42 would be too big (I seriously doubt it though, once a week or two has passed) then the 37PX80 would be more than fitting.
If you will be sitting 6' from the screen, then by all means get the 37" LCD Panasonic, or JVC for similar money - no longer sister companies, like they used to be.

I am seriously tempted by the Sony KDL40z4500, which is 200Hz motionflow Bravia 2 engine LCD. It is now less than £1200.

LOL - at the moment I've got a 30" CRT which is about the largest I think a TV should be in the room, it's only because the 37" flat panel is actually only a few mm larger than that I decided to go that big.

Would be good if somewhere around here would actually demonstrate a TV rather than just have a row of badly tuned poorly shared connections you stand 4ft from. Looking at my mates 1080 beside a 768 I would swear there was a considerable difference- but that is coming from a luddite...
