Not so good down in Thailand either, 50 killed in nightclub fire possibly caused by New Year celebrations.

Good news doesn't sell newspapers!
Have you heard, 60,000,000 Brits had a happy and uneventful New Years Eve.
I don't have a link, but I'm sure someone somewhere MUST have reported such a big story.
Was there not some group in america set up a newspaper called 'Good News' and only publishing positive stories - it only survived for six issues before it folded.Have you heard, 60,000,000 Brits had a happy and uneventful New Years Eve.

Not to mention around 60 dead in a nightclub fire in Bangkok. Apparently, fire crackers are probably to blame;

If you delve into the details you'll find things like no escape doors, or they were locked and chained if they had them at all. No fire system. No fire alarms. Overcrowded etc etc. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/7806...
I've read nothing on the actual story, but lived over there for a decade or more. Seen it happen before. The Ozone disco fire in Manila ten years ago: escape doors wouldn't open, as houses had been built across them!!!! Security locked and bolted the front exits when the crowd started to rush out, 'to save a stampede'. I think some 150+ people died in that one.
