Catering at sporting events !
Discussion
Why is it so bad?
Just got back from Cheltenham racing, was truly shocked at the dire catering facilities (Food & drink outlets) All of the hog roast traders and Organic Goodwood food joints were apparently told by the racecourse they were not allowed to sell drinks leaving the 3 or 4 hot drink outlets 50 people deep at any one point.
Why do we fail so badly at organising catering at sporting events (Any event) in this country?
Cold and thirsty

Never mind the catering, did you back any winners?
Cheltenham is pretty awful for catering. You should see it on Gold Cup day, the crowds are unbelievable.

14/1, 5 losers
I wouldn't go to the Gold cup for that reason (Crowds) alone.
I don't go on Gold Cup day anymore, ever since the weather was awful about 3 years ago and there was about 70,000 all trying to stand indoors. Nightmare.

Packed lunch is your friend!
Could not agree more. £1+ for a cup of tea
I have atually taken a camping stove to some events and supplied tea & coffee to other members of the club, didnt cost much. A large waicker picnic box full of delicious sandwiches and a huge flask of tea (plus a hipflask of brandy!) can win all sorts of favours. Cough.

Maybe I just thought it might be a nice thing to do. I took a gazebo and a couple of chairs. Kind of made a central place for people to hang out
