the point i was trying to make was that pistonheads isnt a dating site, and that most people post in p@p as a bit of light fun ,

felt some of the topics on p@p today were abit ott. and some personal sgging off.

Because for most people, it's 'downtime' and that doesn't always include cars or motoring-related themes. Better to provide what people are (evidently) looking for than have them migrate away to other sites.

So then when PH access gets removed from most companies, due to 'adult' or inappropriate content (which is how this is categorised), then it's OK?

I'll second that.

It is happening more and more due to inappropriate stuff.

A fair few sites that myself and colleagues read have fallen foul of my office's IT systems in recent months due to "inappropriate" material - it would be a real shame for many users who DO (ab)use their internet availability at work if PH fell into that category.

So what needs to change then?

Well then you'll have to crack down on it and people will have to go elsewhere for more risqué banter and kicks I suppose.

The key to remember is that this is an automotive website.

If someone wants to jerk off, there's far more appropriate sites than a site about cars.

Isn't it actually better that they migrate away? Haymarket couldn't give at toss if a few people posting toss leave. Why would they?

The last post on that thread was cringeworthy.

Aye, PH has become a broad.....and sometimes odd Church. Appreciate the point Kinky made though, it would be a shame, no disaster, if stuff like this got it banned from work

But the P&P is for 'non-motoring' matters.

However I agree that there's some utter ste there at times. One can always go round it of course, but how about a new forum especially for the kiddies called 'Toilet humour and flirting for the unhappily married' - or some such?

I always did wonder why the P & P existed, but this still doesn't explain it hehe

The P&P exists to stop non-motoring topics cluttering up the main forums whilst still allowing intelligent discussion of topics of interest to our members.

Just because it is non-motoring, doesn't mean we don't have standards!

If you are worried about being blocked, why not just segregate those threads to a different virtual server, eg pnp.pistonheads.com, should be quite seamless?

Because it is preferred that the P&P is not the place for that sort of thread smile
