Here are a few pictures from the gathering at the Phoenix.
This was my first visit, regulars said the turnout this year was even bigger than last years. It was certainly a great morning.

Gordon Keeble

This had to take the prize for the best noise of the day. The Bugatti type 35 driver reckoned it was the car of the day too biggrin

I shot loads more, about 350 in total, glad it wasn't on film laugh
More to come when I've had a chance to tidy them up a bit.

I think these were to only two white Es, I tried to get every classic there, but I can't guarantee I was successful, they kept coming and going and just would stay still for me to count them biggrin

Sorry MiniMatt, I don't think either of the XKSS or C were originals.

Excellent coverage! Looks like a great meet with a very high quality of classic. Where is The Phoenix?

Told you that you'd have a great day! I've been going I think since 1990 and this is the first year I've missed. I see Gaynor was there (C &SC writer) with her E type 45 BOO and that Timmy was there with his XKSS replica (he built himself) and the C type alongside belongs to John Burton (also home built). I just love that Zagato Aston though! Thanks for helping me forget I wasn't there but next year I assure you the new C type will, God willing, be there.beer

Great set of pictures. It looks an even better turn-out than last year. (my photos at http://driverrob.wordpress.com/2008/01/01/new-year... if anyone wants a look).
The pub car parks are nowhere near big enough for all the cars that turn up. To see them all you have to wander up & down the road outside. I'm sorry I couldn't go this year.

OK, you asked for it. I've stuck the whole load onto Photobucket.

Sorry it's a total mess, I haven't even managed to find the time to rotate the images, or label them etc. Enjoy.

Anyone know anything about the Project Aston? I know Wolfgang Friedrichs runs a replica built around a DB4, but I can't tell if it's that car.

Thanks loads.

A quick Google shows that 5 BVY was originally Aston Martin DB4GT chassis 0195/R which was then rebuilt as a recreate of DP214. I guess that 0195/R was the last of the original run of DB4GTs as 0196/R was a sanction II car. I think it's Martin Brewer's if you look at the Runnymede Motor Company website. My XK150 is probably Martin's fault :-)
