What did you guys think( other than Tom Cruise is crazy)...What do any German here(that have seen the film) think of it?Was it fair?

Slightly off topic, but this evening top gun was on the tv, Tom cruise has changed alot, has he been in for plastic surgery or something - cant quite put my finger on it but he looks very different

From what I heard it was a reasonably good movie. The reviews haven't been that unkind.

I did - could be worse.

It appears is historically accurate and highlights a relatively hidden chapter of Nazi history (at least in the UK). I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Apart from Cruise it appears that most of the cast are Brits playing Germans!

The style of film was very 1940's...and it probably should be...so many modern movie viewers probably wont like it because of that.
The acting IMH(and Correct)O was fine, I even felt fairly tense a few times...there were parts that could have been better, but eh...who cares....I feel its about time the German culture should be allowed to shed the blame for the Nazi crap that happened so long ago.

Stauffenberg wasn't blond. In fact facially there is some similiarity.


So does the actor portraying him have to have lost his left eye, his right hand, and the fourth and fifth fingers of his left hand?

Agree with the height though, Stauffenberg was well over 6ft.

No, but when a whole nation finds the choice of actor an insult to one of there national hero's I find it surprising that the studio would carry on with Cruise and also feel it's very insulting/insensitive/unesecary of them.

Read an article about this. The German government supported and actually part funded the film.

"Some of the family have spoken out because they don't think it will do the story justice and others don't think the casting is ideal, but I totally disagree, especially after I met Tom and saw how he is approaching the role with such professionalism. I think most of the family are curious to see the finished film."
