Credit Crunch - The Bargains and Sales Thread

I think we're still at that point in the January sales where all the worthless rubbish that didn't sell in the last year is put on the shelves at a knock down price in the hope that you'll buy it because it's cheap (rather than good or useful).

If the downturn continues as predicted, we should probably start seeing some genuine bargains, closing down sales and stock clearances that are actually offering decent quality goods at good prices.

So - here's the thread for posting sightings of genuinely exceptional prices on reasonable quality items - anything from TVs to socks, cars to holidays. PLEASE KEEP DISCUSSION SHORT The idea is to have a list, not argue the merits of Plasma vs LCD etc.

Give the name of the place, some sort of contact details (web/address/phone), and example prices if possible.

That Comet site is nuts. They have a Sony LCD TV, store price of around £700 and the fools have bidded it up to nearly a grand.

We went to the factory outlet in Ashford Kent. Nike are offering upto 70% off, I picked up a Gore-Tex Nike ACG ski jacket for £60, the matching ski trousers were £40! They only have sizes XL and XXL in stock, so only the better fed members need bother to attend.

Auctions bring out the stupid in people. The trick with sites like Comet's is to pick out the non-bling items with off-peak end times - they can go for good prices.
