I’m thinking about getting a R33 Skyline- I need a change from BMW’s.

I have a modest budget of only 3k at best so I was looking at standard non-turbo 2.5 examples. Non-turbo as I feel I could get a better example for my money as the turbo versions command higher prices. I have read they are 190bhp so performance cant be to bad?

So my questions (!)…
Are they a good buy? Are they reliable? Do they have timing belts or chains? Are spares easy to get? & Are there any good websites, and buyers guides anyone could recommend? How fast are they 0-60? Mileages seem very low- are they often clocked when they come over?

I’m a total beginner at import Japanese cars so if any one could help it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Its not really worth it...insurance will still be high (insurers care as much about the cost of new body panels as the hp under your right foot) and 190hp is not a lot in a GT car like a Skyline.

for 3k you can get all manner of Japanese turbo stuff that will but a smile on your face smile

Agree, non turbo is a non event, they're quite heavy and 190 really doesn't do it.

You'll regret not getting the turbo version which is far more tunable (for the money; anything is tunable with big pockets).
