Been thinking about getting one of these for when the Cerb doesn't get used much. So far its been taken out at least once a week every week since i got it. (even when it had no working windows or door locks) But i thought just to make sure that battery stays in tip top condition as they are getting rather expensive now. Has anyone used one of these/uses one of these? Opinions welcome. Thanks! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12v-Solar-Panel-Battery-char...

I used one on my Chimaera, it worked for me.

I now use a charger/conditioner on my Cerb (Halfords c£20 - just as effective as those advertised for £50) as I have now plumbed in an external mains socket by the drive.

Hi

I tried using the smaller one's similar to that youve mentioned and it didnt seem to do a great deal so i went for one of the larger ones, more like an open briefcase size, and im convinced that does the job.

cheers

Off topic - Hi John. You still got the cerb then, as well as the 911 turbo !??? How do they compare?
We talked about 2 yrs ago and I promised to pop over and talk cerbs with you ! I no longer live in Chidd now and no longer have a cerb ;-( My close friend william tells me that he looks after your Defender for you.

Hi Gary

Yep, still got the cerb and lucky enough to have the porsche too. I suppose the expression is 'chalk and cheese' but both equally fantastic in their own way. smile And yes, another mate of mine put me in touch with William for all things landrover, he's a top bloke.

btw - I'm amazed you havent dived back into cerb ownership yourself !

Thanks for the info advice and opinions guys. I'm assuming this panel will generate approx 80mah on an overcast day? So dose anyone know the current drain on a Cerb battery with everything turned off? 80mah maybe? LOL! If it is around that and I'm only getting 8 hours of daylight then it wont be enough. Hmmmmmm, maybe i just need to drive it more? smile

Just stumbled across this link: http://www.great-outdoors-leisure.co.uk/index1.htm...

Thought it might be useful - especially the metre-long version delivering 1200mA....
