T350T Newbie questions...

Hello all. Two weeks into ownership and just curious about the following:

1. The glove box lid seems warped and doesn't sit flush - is there a fix or will it need replacing? I assume it's plastic inside which is why my attempts at bending it back into shape have failed!
2. The kickplates say 'T350C'. Were these standard on Targas as well or have they been wrongly fitted?! Are 'T350T' kickplates available?
3. Driver's wing mirror has that annoying 'magnifying' glass that makes everything appear really close, and I can't get on with it. Want to replace with normal mirror. Am I correct that the mirrors are from a Corrado?
4. Rear badge is a bit tatty - I did see a refurb guide on here but can't find it for some reason, can anyone help?

Hi James like you i'm new to this and spent hours just going back through this section page by page there is loads of info and well worth doing it.

The best fix I read for the glove box was to bond a strip of aluminium to the underside of the glove box lid and when fixed just bend the lid back to shape.

Glovebox lid is normal - pain in the arse though! A chap on here recently sorted his by bonding a thick strip of Ally to the back and then bending back into shape.
My kickplates have T350T on them.
Don't know about the mirror I'm afraid.
Badges are common faults - though I believe the rear is a PITA to get off due to the boot opening switch. Do a search on here as I believe some people have had them re-chromed.

The comedy glove boxes were fixed, eventually. I'd try your dealer for a replacement, can't imagine it would be hard to fit. I've not studied them, but they look like you could pull the old one out and pop the replacement in (but, it is a Trevor!)

Under 70: nothing. Over 70: slight noise; over 80: quite loud wind noise which stays at pretty much the same volume however much faster you go. Haven't yet done any long 80mph+ journeys so it hasn't been annoying, but I imagine it will be! Anyway what am I talking about? As long as you remain within the national speed limit, as we all do, you will never have a problem

going to try and get sone kickplates made up from carbon fibre with relevent logos, also rear window surrounds and headlight surrounds(the bit thats painted black)plus a few other bits and bobs,(work in progress) will post when made up.

I have T350T kickplates (May 2004 car). The factory tended to fit what they had in stock - they weren't about to delay a car for kickplates. Plus, I suspect the earliest T350Ts didn't have their 'own' kickplates.

Targa noise. Every car will be different (TVRs are not a computer precision cut product!). You can get slightly thicker foam around the roof panel, and also adjust how tight the front latches get with washers (that is on later models - earlier - pre early 2004 may need additional latches - latches on sides = early, latches front/rear = later). My panels are now silent up to 120+ mph unless you're out on a really windy day when it can be 100-110mph. A fast motorway cruise only result in the usual TVR 'this car is alive' type noises. A few PHers have had a ride in my car at relevent lepton speeds and can confirm this is possible.

I can't remember the URL but it was an online foam/insulation specialist. I used a roll of slightly thicker foam. You have to be careful as this may make your roof panels protrude further, causing more whistling and not less. Like all things TVR, experiment.

My T350T had T350C kickplates. Glovebox was poor [ste, for something that stares you in the face when you sit in the car, and the first thing people point at, making compliments about the rest of the superb interior difficult and giving easy fuel to the 'clarkson crew']. Nearly lost a roof panel at speed. Still loved it though.

What he said. Seem to remember somebody with an early one posting that they had to hassle the dealer (and in turn the factory) to supply some "t" ones when they started making them?!

If you don't want the hassle of refurbishing the fg original badge this is a real alternative got one for back and front - so much better than plasticky stuff well done TSOR

Mine came with t350c kickplates from new and a dodgy glovebox managed to get both of them fixed at the factory before closure, the latter glovebox lids are fibreglass and fit a lot better.
I also suffered high wind noise at 70-80mph but found that if i pushed upwards on the centre section on the t-bar it was a lot quieter! I managed to fill this with some padding and tightened the allen keys as tight as i dare, now so long as the panels are put back on correctly i can cruise at 80 with very little wind noise or whistle

TVR Barnet supplied and fitted new badges on my T350c, they look sweet, i'm sure they could help you out.
