My TomTom falls off my windscreen in cold weather.
I'm in the US so we do get some "silly coldness"

I have seen Garmin wieghted mounts that just sit on top of the dash, anyone seen or have a TT one.

The Garmin device works a treat. I have seen an advert recently for aftermarket versions for TomTom - have had a search amongst recent mags (I take Car, Classic & Sportscar and Autocar) but cannot find it - try some of the advertisers on this website.

Thanks Guys,
I of course did a few searches myself before posting.
Due to its many falls to the footwell my TomTom is currently suffering concussion symptoms smile.
(Needs the paper clip treatment almost every outing)
I think it may be easier to just buy a garmin so I can get the mount I want.

Word of warning.
I use a Garmin "bean bag" mount. It has a suede-effect underside which stops it from slipping. However, in very cold weather it tends to slide quite a bit until the car/dashboard has warmed up.

I noticed this with my Tomtom mount in the snow a couple of times last week, only way it would stay on was with the warm air blowing onto the windscreen.
It's the only time i've had problems with it in 3 years though, so i assume its the freezing temperatures over the last few weeks.

Lick the suction cup before pushing it (hard) onto the windscreen. It'll help smile

My TomTom is a nightmare to fix to the screen when it is cold and even worse if I've left it in the boot over night as the sucker rubber is hard and so doesn't form a tight seal on the screen, best thing to do is warm the rubber on the mount and wipe the inside of the screen to ensure it's dry before you try to fix the mount again and don't be afraid to apply some pressure when fixing it on - hang on in there - once you get the hang of it, the cold is no longer a problem - weighted units may fly off when you get into some 'enthusiastic' drivinglaugh
Good luck thumbup

Havig got totally fed up with the GPS falling off the windscreen at various times, I finally installed the proper Garmin'automotive' dash top mount.

An excellent piece of kit - no more flying GPS!

You could also buy an air vent mount for your sat nav and then never have the problem of it falling off the windscreen in cold weather.
