Anyone here on there?

I'm rob_smith, done a few challenges, not sure if I'm going to renew my membership yet. The feedback and advice is great there though, harsh but you learn quickly.

The reason I might not renew is that there is a definite style that wins on that site, and I'm not sure I want to try and shoot everything like that, the editing rules sort of get ingrained in your psyche too. I like entering pictures I have shot recently, I don't have time to shoot specifically for each challenge and that's what you need to do really.

Someone mentioned it on another thread, and up until then I'd never heard of it to be honest. But after having a quick flick through the challenges it's something I'd like to do to help with composition and processing speed.

But you say renew, so I guess there's some money involved?

If I shoot for pleasure (as opposed to paid) then it's for my own satisfaction, and not to try to double-guess the personal preferences of whoever's judging it. That's why I don't do competitions. If I've taken a photograph I'm pleased with, that's all I need

Yep. I'm on there most weeks (as mikee) and I get a lot out of it. I find the comments are much more useful than the scores though.

I went out toady just to take a photo for the challenge, and I'm actually quite pleased with it.
