Planet roack's poll to find the best vocallist has named ol' Percy as best vocallist - link to Daily Wail article here:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-11039...

However, the DM being the DM, cannot get the article totally correct, saying that one of the judges was Ian Anderson - from YES!!!!!!

Gillans well up the list too. He'd be relegated if they'd seen this first!!

Mind you, I'd like to see the fat one attempt Speed King.

eek Hetfield above Chris Cornell!!! nono that's wrong!

TBH, the order of that whole list is pretty meaningless - basically looks like a random list of rock singers from the past 30 years, regarldess of their vocal abilities

Biff at 39!

Joy! (You fookin' bds!) hehe

What a preposterous list of allegedly hard rockin' pipesmithery: where's Klaus Meine from Da Scorps? Eric Adams from Manowar? King Diamond from Denmark. Or my old chum, Messiah Marcolin from Candlemass who iirc, skipped his national service stint in the Norwegian Army to preach the gospel of true metal?

I've seen heavier werks of metallic vocal art mumbling from the 5 disced upright of a B&O tower system whilst being cooed at by a gaggle of metrosexual turtlesweaterists during Dire Strait's rendition of 'Les Boys.'

DTFM.

Ian Anderson = Jethro Tull
John Anderson = Yes

Some glaring obscenities on a list that purportedly should be rock's greatest voices: Bowie? Gabriel? Morrison? Jagger? Why is Cornell not higher? And why is Hagar above Dave Lee Roth???

Another poor effort from the Wail.

If you like dreary monotone "gravel, man."

It's bland warbletone for Transit drivers circa 1975.

As I keep explaining to you, if you consider Elfen Von Dio's intergalactic romp during Stargazer and compare it to yer man, then still blunder forth with this weary allegiance to mediocrity, then I submit that your ears must be bunged resplendently with the most copious scoops of opaquest wax.

Anyway, for proper vocal laceration, it has to be Dark Avenger by Manowar. Pure comedy.

RJD always sings like he's constipated after a Vindaloo PR has a much broader range and can
do Quiet,Bombast,Gravel Soulful like no other!! if you actually could ask the other 39 in this list
who is the best I bet PR would be number 1

I'll convert you yet!!!!

From a man who rates Genesis (Gabriel as flower era, to boot) as the crowning moment in Rock.

If you weren't such a font of wisdom I'd come down and demonstrate the finer points of Lee Van Cleef's moves as reprised from his meisterwerks during the making of 'The Master.'

"Look out!"
