What are the merits on each and what would you go for?

355 better looks and noise maybe

360 better roof (355 spider roof known to be fragile and complex), 360 had better f1 box eventually (though earlier ones were worse - think cured by software upgrades)

as always drive both and see which you like. I really dont like the looks of the 360 but do like the 430 even though they are similar

its probably easier to find better 360s than 355s - good 355s seem to be rarer now

360 spider any day for me

355 looks dated imho, especially with those lights up wink same applies for interior
360 is easier to leave with, can be used everyday, better quality build etc

I was kind of thinking along the same lines. The 355 looks like it's holding its value better though.
Are 360's deppreciating quite fast at the moment? I know that's probably a stupid question as all cars are kind of taking a hit. I'm just looking around a few different cars at the moment and want to buy something I like obviously, but something that seams to be a safer bet if at all possible!

nice well looked after 355 is obviously safer bet in terms of depreciation
however I've recently seen few under 50k F360 spiders and they were not silver or high mileage one
I think nice well maintained 360 spider at around 45-50K might be also a safe bet, maybe I'm wrong
I'm also on the market now for 360 spider but no point getting covertable before April-May

Hello Alan,

Like you I have thought about other `FUN` cars other than the 996 GT2, they will never come close to the challenge of driving the most lethal thing on the roads! (i did think of a gallardo for a while last year, they do look sexy as fk, but i jumped into a gt2 and was fking terrified = result!)

Have you thought of modding it? .......could change the look, fell and performance of the car! ...600+ bhp is available if needed?

Take care and all the best for 2009

Hi Stevie. All the best to you in 2009 also. Good luck with that dalmed insurance company! On that seen anything you like or are you holding back just in case!lol
The performance of the car is phenominal. No doubting that. Everyone who has ever been in it with me still talks about it. When I first pull it out the garage when I get back, it just looks mean an purposeful. Especially from the back. The boy in me also loves roll cage and CF bucket seats, ceramics's and all that wonderful stuff!
I think it's the poser in me that is looking at these cars. I mean they have great performance also (not quite the same albeit), but look so dalm good. It's owning an Itallian supercar that I hanker after. That said, I would only consider it, if a decent offer came in for mine.

Unless you want to buy before the annual 5% summer convertible price hikes.

well having had both, id have to say 360. the 355 is still a gorgeous looking car with more clasic lines but had a lots of electrical issues with mine. was one of last made and roof leaked badly. Door sill behind door vents always seem an issue too. they collect water and rust. seen it on lots of cars. also if your any taller than 5'6" be prepared to look like a garfield glued to front screen as seat goes forward to lower roof. also tonnau cover looks great but defeats object of having power roof and additional weight.

360 has been an awsome car. not quite so classic but sexy in black/crema. Ive covered 18000 mls in 18 months and has been fautless apart from dead battery. now on 22k with one cluth which is really surprising as i never ragg it, honest... 360 is cheaper on belts but dearer on clutches so im told. due both next few months so thats gonna be a nice one.

happy hunting.

I honestly doubt it's gonna be the case in 2009

Yes it will. The same as every year. The ultimate price may be lower than previous years but a private sale convertible will fetch more in April than it will be in January by the simple fact that more people are looking for them.
