... OK so I 'll admit it, I'm somewhat drifitng through life at the moment. I've got my own biz and do OK for myself but have got that tick, tick, tick in the back of my head that says I'm letting things slip by in life.

I've upped my game a bit in '08 and have done some amazing stuff like blasting roung the 'ring in an E92 M3, seen some places I'd always promised myself I would (which didn't dissapoint) and secured a real step up in my professional potential for '09 and beyond.

In addition to these things, I have set out my targets for the next few years which include being mortgage free, getting really fit again and re-focussing on my long term goal regarding property which involves some land with a few lakes (or the potential for building them at least).

All of which is fine and dandy and I'll dare say is a better position to be in than some, but the fact remains that life is still pretty boring, despite all of the above. I know that you're all thinking "mid life crisis!", but in my mid 30's I don't think it's this. I think it's simply a lack of focus about what to do whilst I'm working on the longer term goals listed above.

So, whilst I'm no doubt going to get a complete ribbing for posting this (did I mention I am naive/stupid too?!![delete as appropriate]), I'm just looking for a bit of inspiration as to how I can make sure I don't miss the journey for the sake of waiting for the destination?

I'm off to hide behind the sofa...

If I were in your position I'd take up some sort of sport, extreme or otherwise. Ever tried your hand at sky diving? Motorsport?

Riiiight!(think austin powers) As far as i can see, all you need to do is get re-motivated, so try this for an idea. I work in a dead end job, its hard work, low paid and i hate every minute of it. Would you want to swap places? Knowing that you will probably say no(who wouldnt) if you dont get motivated to push on, you could be me next year or in the future! Hope this helps!idea

Once you analyse what has been going on since July 2008 you'll realise you have no control over your life and fortune anyway.

No. And although at times I really like the idea of one, I'm a bit too difficult to live with to inflict that on anyone else. Besides, I get bored pretty quickly...

To be honest mate im kinda the same.

Not mid 30's mind! mid 20's! haha!

Finished all this studying stuff, got professional qualifications and now settling into the 9-5 monday to friday routine, and basically thinks its bks!

Only thing i can think of is actually leaving my job and doing something different... like work in porn, or move out to LA to be an actor... how hard can that one be? Other options arejoin Navy or Raf.

Can always go back to your career your on now?

Other option... move away somewhere, move to Australia, the US, Caymen islands! Just somewhere different! That would be a laugh! something different and all!

Learn something new? im trying my hand at phycology... (although judging by my spelling, should try English) What about animal handling! catching snakes or alligators seems like a laugh!

You seem to be doing alright for yourself. Why not try doing something to make it alright for someone less fortunate.

Then consider educating yourself... read. Literature, philosophy, cooking, gardening etc etc
Expand your knowledge base and ability.

Sod extreme sports they are way too expensive.

What I do is collect ladies underwear from washing lines without getting caught, can be quite thrilling if they have a security light.

Much cheaper than all this bungee jumping crap.

First idea sounds interesting. As for the books, I read like there's no tomorrow - books are food for the soul.

Oh! another thought is to try and do 1 thing stupid or bad every week!

This week i tried my hand at making really big fireworks out of small fireworks..... It was reasonably lame, but i did manage to blow a wheelie bin up in my back garden.

Amongst all of these achievements, what's you social life/circle of friends like?
Shrinking fast due to kids and wifeys I'm afraid. Still see them but on a much less frequent basis.
