Is this bumper repairable?
Discussion
As topic, I need a new back bumper for my hyundai coupe, I have been offered this one for free, but would need to get it sprayed. It has damage to the O/S corner, just wondering if any bodywork experts could tell me whether it looks easy enough to put into shape
Thanks in advance

i would say that would be easy to pop back to place. a bit of heat and pressure and it would almost as good as new.
im not an experts but i did a similar thing on a lupo rear bumper. i just removed the arch liner, put a hair dryer in there and pushed the dent out with my palm. the paint was spiderlegged/cracked and needed painting but it saved me from having to buy a new bumper etc.

Depends on how much a new one is & whether the proper repair & repaint of it outweigh the cost of a new one.
As a classic restoration professional, it's amazing what can be repaired, but that is usually as my workforce & I have no choice - there is no new, off the shelf, alternative.
To get it repaired properly (not just heated up & 'popped') would be around 8 to 10 hrs including paint, so offset that (at your chosen repairers' labour rate) against the cost of a new one & you have your answer, barring £100 or so P&M.

in the late 80's i worked with a lad who would buy all the slightly damaged black plastic XR2 & XR3 bodykit parts from a local Ford bodyshop which would normally have been thrown in the skip, due to new parts issued on an insurance repair.he took them home, would heat them up,and they would pop back into shape and would sell full kits through autotrader.he made very good money from it too...
