I watched it but missed the section where they were found out (had to answer the phone) how were they sussed in the end? Did they just push it too far?
sent them straight to british museum, who showed them to Bonhams who then alerted the police. As usual they got greedy and this led to thier downfall But what a talent for art!...they tried to sell some Syrian tablets to Brit Museum who became suspicious....antiques fraud squad sent round....found two other replicas of the one they sold for £440K....done deal....should have been happy with the £440K and enjoyed there ill gotten gains..... interesting programme.

They were forging for 17 years before being found out - astounding.stifler said:
Shirley the fake artist, sean greenhalgh?, has got a career when he gets out of prison. The infamy would be enough to get him in the art worlds public eye? The way they portrayed him in the tv program was like he is a savant.
He could get a job as a restorer I guess.Savant? Undoubtably. His father was teacher of technical drawing so his 'eye' was most likely hereditary.

I'm sure he has done extremely well out of it, £440k for one piece.
How many others has he done over the years? I'm sure he has made a pretty penny.

He made between £2-10 million depending on which newspaper report you believe.

I would like to point out that I am not encouraging said behaviour.
