Did anyone see the the column in one of the national papers today, (not sure which, was my Mum's paper).

It suggested that 32K was all a guy could get for his 06 Gallardo with 20,000 miles.

Nonsense.

There was an article a while back suggesting someone sold a DB9 for that too! I'm sure they're out there, but under extreme circumstances and are the exception rather than the rule, IMO.

This is just another medium of the media projecting negative information which is totally unfounded.
They never seam to give us the good news! Retail sales down?! Not from what I have seen and heard!
Car prices are def taking a hit, but a 2006 or any Gallardo for the price of a 3 series BMW. Not likely!

Generally these stories come from people needing to get shot of the car, go to dealer for trade in, dealer doesn't really want yet another car on the books so punts really low. Owner doesn't sell it at that obviously but that shouldn't get in the way of a good story...

That is exactly what it was. It was an article by Quentin Wilson in one of the red tops.

Very likely, although, possibly accepted because the owner just wanted to upgrade to the latest model because he has so much money and couldn't care less about the part-ex price. That would suggest the economy isn't as bad as people think therefore not news-worthy. smile
