It does get worse,I`ve seen a car come off a transporter top deck,hit the car being towed on the spec lift and bounce into the third lane.

Some guy I briefly met a couple of times at motorway services who tows buses admitted that he towed a new mondeo auto with brake failure,backwards front wheeels down with a spec lift in neutral for 70 miles.
He didnt even leave it running,which would have helped.
He got four miles from his drop off and it burst into flames and took the truck with it,the fire started in the gearbox.
The car owner and his son were with him as well.
still works for the same firm,though.
