I know that such things are a matter of taste, but I've spent the last week or so with bits of car all over the drive/garage/kitchen table to change the grills (partly enforced by an unfortunate, and now ex- pheasant) and exige-style scoops. Thought I'd post for info. Its an 03 S2 111S by the way.

Personally I think it looks much more 'purposeful'.

Hopefully pic links will work.....

Wow, good job. I really like the side scoops! Beautiful color by the way.

If I get an Elise I plan on replacing the front grill with a lighter colored Mesh grille, and replacing any black scoops with carbon fiber ones, hope they make 'em for the Elise hehe

I did mine like that when the Exige came out and the pods became available ...I dunno why Lotus just dont do mesh grilles and pods on the Elise too, as its such a popular mod, to get rid of the bleedin plastic that goes white with age....but of course, the visual differentiators between both models wouldnt be as much then ...not good for marketing wink

Yeah, given the spec choice I think I'd have gone for black but these anthracite ones do look pretty damn good in the flesh and a bit more unusual as well, too much hassle to paint them now.

Very nice. My grille is in the boot after destroying a pheasant too. Which grille kit did you buy, and how much if you don't mine me asking smile

Its an eliseparts job, bit of a pain in the arse to be honest, think it was £350 for the full kit, which is quite a lot (but you can by it in bits), but what the heck. The pain is actually getting it all on, the front 'mouth' and the front side vents are bonded from the inside, which means that you have to take the clam off. Thats not 'too' difficult (about 3 days for me including lots of trips to B&Q to get more suitable tools with no experience, just a set of instruction printed off Seloc) and I reckon I could do it again in about 1-2hrs if I was racing - major problems was that this is a 5yr old car and it had obviously not been off before, loads of stripped heads, seized bolts and general swearing - worst was the allen nut attaching back end of clam to windscreen pillar which is blind and I stripped it - took me best part of day with a dremel and some new yoga positions.

Haven't tackled the engine cover ones yet, struggling to see how I can get the current ones off without damage to the extent that respray of area will be needed. If anyones got any suggestions then I'd welcome them.
