Ross Kemp on Gangs - South African Prisons

Did anybody see Ross Kemp on Gangs on Sky 1 last night with the "numbers" gang that control the prisons in South Africa? There was an interview with the "general" who takes other prisoners as his "wife" and they don't resist because he's killed so many in prison and will kill them. Scary stuff.

Once spoke with a guy from South Africa who had come here to live. I asked about crime there and said why didn't you carry a gun. His reply was that you can do, but if you kill somebody in defense you usually end up in prison for a few days while the police confirm what happened. Read his first book about Gangs back end of last year. Scary stuff. MIL got me the second for christmas. Reading about the Mungiki tribe in Kenya was frightening.

ETA I didn't like him when he was in Eastenders but I have to say that he's now gone up in my estimation. Could all be rubbish but he comes across as one brave bloke in the book.
