Nissan X-Trail standard tyres- ok in the snow?

Brother is hiring an X-Trail for a skiing trip.

I've looked on the Nissan website but can't tell what tyres it comes with as standard.

Will he need to book snow chains as well or are the tyres up to the job of light snow conditions?

They'll be "ok" but not great especially going back down! they are Bridgstone's but certainly not winter tyres. If driving in the alps you'll legally need chains unless they have the alpine winter logo which standard fitments won't have.
