Fantasy becoming reality or nightmare?

There I was driving to work this morning and on the God-awful local radio came that olde songe 'Don't want to miss a thing' from that cheesie movie Armageddon.

And it got me thinking. Just how much more unbearable would Uncle Sam be if they actually did save the world. We would never hear the end of it!

They are more likely to bring about the destruction of the world not save it. then blame it all on Korea or Iran.

Truthfully, if the world needed saving from total annihilation and they did it, I'd be forever grateful.

Something like that, as foretold in the Watchmen book, would bring together the various warring people of the world... for a while anyway.
