Just started pouring down with rain. And my cars right in the middle of it!! Anybody want to tell me if I should expect a pond in the footwells and where to check for leaks?

I didn't put the cover on and can't until 3 and I'm leaving at 3:30 anyhow.

If you've got a leak... you'll find out the usual way..!

Great, well I'm off to check for a swimming pool now. I did do the 4 coats of Thompsons Water seal 2 weeks ago. But it was quite heavy, just got to see if the seals have held.

Ok. looks like the water seal held, aside fromt the edges, need to do them again when dry. And the footwells appear dry as well!! So the seals held.

Also a good idea to check that the drain tubes from the boot rim are not blocked as mine tend to get stuffed with dead leaves at this time of year.

It can be quite a shock to find your boot swimming in six inches of water.

Always check under the seats, this seemed to be the main cllection point for mine until new seals and waterproofing of the roof was carried out.

Don't forget the "carpet plugs" that go through the fibreglass floor, if you don't push them in or seal them you will get water in whilst driving in the rain.

Never had any problems with mine when sitting in rain, however when speeding down the motorway I get a drip in the passenger footwell and on my left elbow just behind the oddments tray.

New rubber on the rear header sorted out the back leak, while the footwell one is more of a pain, I think I know where its coming from and have applied silicon, as a pervious owner has but there is so much there now it probably needs removing and starting from scratch.

Thankfully it stays garaged most of the time..
