Just a quick Question

How would i go about getting my T350 a couple of inch's off the ground (all four wheels)
Like this picture of Graham's lovely Sag?



Do i jack up each wheel onto the stands or these special stands?

Just thinking of protecting the underside and cleaning my wheels.

Jack up a wheel at a time, then put an axle stand in place as shown in the pic. You will need 4 Axle stands, as I wouldnt trust myself working under a car on a jack.

Wont it fall off first stand as i jack up next time or not? (May sound like a silly question but i could get my other cars up and work on them easy enough without getting right up on stands so not to sure and don't want a stand through the bottom of the car...

Get yourself a low entry trolley jack, wheel chocs and something you can make a ramp out of (I used some paving slabs but planks of wood wil do). The reason why you will probably need to make a make-shift ramp is because even low entry trolley jacks often don't slide under the front of the car.

So drive the front wheels up onto your DIY ramp, put the wheel chocs in place behind the rear wheels (handbrake on and in 1st gear) and slide the trolley jack under the front and lift on the front chassis beam that runs in parallel with the front axle. When at the right height put the axle stands in place, lower the car onto them and then repeat at the back.

Repeat in reverse to get it off the axle stands.

Very handy thanks makes sense i just wanted to be sure before i attempted it.

Its best to lift with two trolley jacks at the front so not to stress the chassis on to low axle stands, then very carefully in small bites do the back same, then lift the front higher in the same manner.

Take no chances; allow a couple of hours to do it the first time.

When practiced 20mins

Modified axle stands/rubber bushes spacers save the chassis too

Wouldn`t mind seeing close-up's of where the stands met with the car to make sure I`m getting the jacking correct (The diagrams from Graham are great but a picture speaks a few more words!)

Thanks for the picture, the Sagaris is heading into a Garage for a few months of TLC tomorrow (lense sealing, battery wiring, full clean, etc.)

Are you happy that the modified stands don`t have a weak point where they have been modified to cup the chassis?

No Problem, but if you don,t modify,I think they foul at the back, as they are too wide
