Hi All, Just thought I would introduce myself..... I have been unable to leave this site alone over the Christmas period and so I had to join! It's a great site to say the least! Anyhow, I am a fellow kit car enthusiast having built two, the first one was used for 13 years and then sold to fund my existing one which was completed in 2000, having taken nearly 5 years to complete. Both these cars are NG's, the first being a TD which I converted, for the new owner, to a TF - the sale of this one helped fund the TC which has been on the road now for nearly 9 years of absolute trouble free motoring. Its finished in Audi Aluminium Silver, black leather interior with Stewart Warner instrument and powered by the Rover V8 power train, including the 5 speed box and rear axel. My other interest is with the classic mini, iconic in its design and simplicity. I have a early Clubman bodyshell which I am extensively modifying to help it go a little quicker. I will cover this project a little more as it gains momentum and progresses nearer to completion.
Living in Felixstowe, Suffolk.... I am wondering if there are any other like minded individuals around my area or if there are any meets, drive outs etc....?

Hi!
I'm over the border in Essex and Kitcar meets are a bit thin on the round over this way, but you can always swell the 'Kitcar' membership over at www.phea.co.uk and the 'East Anglia' Forum on PH.
Cheers,
Ferg

Thanks Ferg, I will. Do you cross the border at all? I tend to go to classic car meets and mix in with the club members there. Its ok, but not the same as discussion with similar type car owners. Cheers.

Well spotted that man! I thought a quick change to include my name may be a little less stand-offish? Anyway... it was also an oppertunity to include a photo of the car too.

Ferg, I have seen that one around. It's not a bad example and it looks very presentable. It is the same type that I sold to fund my existing one and far easier to build. The TC V8 was quite a challenge, to say the least. Richie.

Hi Ferg, The car is a Hoyle. It may have been one of the lastish cars that John sold b4 he sold the business. John helped me find a buyer for the TD/TF to raise funds to purchase the kit. It is not the easiest of kits tp build, the standard 1800 TA's, TD's, TF's and TC's are far easier to construct. But still, they are all very nice cars, in my opinion that is. I need to get the car MOT'd, although it is taxed and insured. My only problem with the car at the moment is that it has no heater so I have started accumlating parts for a simple upgrade some time.

Steve, I bet the Westfield Seight goes like a rocket!!! I know my 3.5 is quick..... but with a 3.9.... it would be fantastic. Maybe an upgrade some time. I am building a mini at present with a similar set up, but with a transverse front wheel drive... but that is another story for later.

Please let me know when you guys meet up and I will do my best to make it along. Cheers, Richie.

Right.
I met Nick Green a couple of times at Stoneleigh back in the early 80s and I've always counted NG, except perhaps during the Pastiche era, as a great car from a great company. The Findhorn cars certainly seem like a nice product and I'm glad the marque survived the (in my opinion) mis-guided mania for restoring even the most rotten MGBs.

My first NG was purchased from Nick Green, and I placed the order at his parents post office in New Milton. That was back in 1982. My first car is now owned by a Doctor who purchased it from me in 1995. Then purchased the TC from John Hoyle as previously said. I agree, the Pastiche era not the most productive time - the move from the MG base was nearly the down fall of the mark. Anyhow, I believe the donars used, certainly in my case, were usually ready for the scrappers.
