can't get the blighters to stop churning out freezing air. I've twiddled and pushed and pulled and then slid the slidey thing in all directions. red hot air out the dash vents and freezing cold out of the console.

bearable when the sun's out ( roof off) but hot head and cold hands at 7am !

Any cheats?

I think the reply is 'They all do that Sir!'

Mine does anyway, my week of Welsh driving with the roof off confirmed that.....

They are fresh air vents... directly connected to the outside world, with no heater intervention. Just close 'em...

At least yours only blow out cold air, mine blast me with leaves, twigs, insects and more.

I must get around to putting a pair of the Mrs tights on the inlet.

Put gauze over mine... seems to work, but you do need to periodically clean / replace it...

Centre vents only blow fresh air from behind the front grill (you can see the intake scoops). Vents on the two opposite edges of the dash' and the footwell vents blow air that has been through the heater box. Incidentally this air is sucked in straight from behind the dash.....recirculated in other words! If you are cold close the centre vents a bit but they are your ONLY source of fresh air.

Hope this helps

Just as well considering how long everything takes to warm up on a cold day!

I seem to have plenty of other sources of fresh air, but only on cold days mind you.

Is it possible to 'turn off' the two centre console fresh air vents ?

They do have twiddly knobs (no comments please !), so i would expecct you'd be able to turn them on and off with a half twist clockwise or anti-clockwise (like the ones above your head in an aeroplane or coach)

If so, mine just twist freely, meaning a constant deluge of fresh air - not needed in the summer as the roof is off and just irritating in the winter !

If my guess is right, any ideas where i might pick up some new ones ? Are they the same as the ones in the footwell ?

Cheers
