Topcats (Aylesbury) or Tower View (bottom of the M1) are the obvious ones that spring to mind. (Just fitted the new Nitrons at the weekend. )

Hard to say. Maybe a couple of hours to fit (that's how long I would allow to do it myself, they could well be quicker at it). Assuming the lengths and springs are all correct, or if you are reusing the existing springs that the springs do fit the new dampers. If they just do a 'best guess' on the ride height and damper rates that's all that is required. If they set them up properly to suit your particular car, maybe add an hour. If they then go on to cornerweight it and set up the geometry, it could take the rest of the day. Just depends how far you want to go.

They look absolutely gorgeous, a real work of art and it is a shame to hide them away under the car. On the road they are fan-bleedin-tastic, I think you're going to like them! Just like the originals (which were superb) but more so. Even the adjuster has a nicely damped 'snick' feel to it, these things just ooze quality.

Avos are just fine and dandy for budget concious people, you have to get the springs right though. I've tried GAZ and LEDA and both sets of dampers couldn't produce consistent results when dyno tested, the Avos were much better in this respect and much cheaper too!One indie is selling GAZ dampers at Nitron prices, they don't really compare at all, makes the nitrons look tremendous value for money or the GAz very poor depending where you stand.

Oh yes, spent several months swapping dampers around trying to find a complete working set from all the replacements they (very kindly) sent me. Still got a couple of set somewhere collecting rust ...

Do they valve them for the springs these days? The set I tried had 'one-size-doesn't-fit-all' valving that went from zero to solid in a dozen clicks. The range of useful settings suitable for my car was two or three clicks and they all seemed too harsh or too soft - couldn't find a happy medium. Maybe they're better these days though.

Don't know who the indie is you're referring to, but I thought briefly of getting a set from my favorite specialist as spares when the Nitrons went back to be serviced - changed my mind sharpish when I saw what the prices had gone up to!

Hmmmm.... Suspension upgrade was next on the list, so maybe AVO kit then. Not SPAX.

Easiest thing would just be to source them from Joospeed. He'll take the time to talk through what you want for your car and help you make an informed decision. Make sure you know what you want it to do for you, and then you've got a fighting chance of getting a positive outcome. If you just buy 'xxx' product without knowing how or where it performs best, and whether that matches your expectations, you're asking for disappointment IMHO.

That's what I was thinking as well. As soon as the finances have sorted themselves out, I will give him a ring. The AVO kit looks like a likely buy.

Just to let you all know the adjustable AVO's were £325 delivered direct from AVO and i got a set of springs for £225 from a TVR dealer delivered so all in at £550 ish, i did not think that was to bad, the springs did seem a tad expensive but i wanted it done asap

Going to get them all fitted and set up on thursday or friday so i should be all back on the road by saturday!

All in all been a busy month for my TREV:
1. New throttell Bodies
2. New full set of carpets
3. New shocks and springs
4. Service
5. Sort out that annoying tiny dribble of oil from the gearbox

.....think i had better go to sleep before i realise what i have spent
...still there are plenty more things that i would like to do to it yet

I have AVO adjustables fitted to my S2 (3 yrs old). On one the click stop knob (await jokes) is stiff (and again..) and hardly moves at all. Are they serviceable & if so anyone got any idea of how much/ease etc. Can this little prob be sorted at home? Only tried WD40 to little avail...Ta.
Dave.

Just wondering if anyone can give me some advise as to optimum setting for these things
I will mostly be using it on the road but the occasional track day will not be unheard of
