how long does a medical last ?

I got a medcial done last year because i was going to take my ards test. what with one thing and another i never did it .. do I need another medical this year if i take my ards this year or can i use the results i got last year for an ards this year (if you see what I mean) .. ie does a medical have a shelf life.. ?

depends how old you are. If you are under 45 i think one medical is enough, until you are 45, otherwise it is annual.

The medical's valid for a year if you're over 45. You don't need a medical to do the ARDS, but you need the medical for the actual licence application.

if its a normal medical from the gp they last for 3 months (I know cos mine expired 4 days before my ards test so i had to get it recertified)

but I am under 45 and this is my first licence.
