What to wear to a Christening?
Discussion
I've just been told by the GF that we have been invited to her friend's Baby's Christening at the end of the Month.
Apart from hating Christenings, I dont really know her mates so will feel a bit out of place.
Anyway, I dont want to wear a suit.
What is acceptable?
Smart Jeans, nice shirt & shoes?
Or MUST it be Trousers?
Cheers

Your G/F had been invited to celebrate the birth of her friends' child.
She has required you to attend.
Unless you wish to piss her off you should ask how smart a bash it will be. If she's going dressed to the nines ready for a glass of champers and few canapes at the reception after the service? You have best be in your best suit.
Most likely the above is what it is.
If it's a happy-clappy ceremony with a buffet at their house later then jeans a shirt with a collar may be more appropriate. Your g/f should enquire of her friend as to the location of the service (C of E/Catholic = SUIT).
Remember a Christening is a religious service. Act and dress accordingly. If you are not religious yourself be polite and respectful - that will be enough.
Good luck.
BTW: This IS a test and She IS measuring you on it.
