This may have been posted but can you tel me if there is a thread showing the price paid for services on 350's, Sagaris, Tamora etc.

On another formum for my last car we stated the price we paid for our services so we knew if we were getting competitive prices.

I would liek to know the average cost for a 6K and 12K service

Where? 12 month or 12k ?

Mine is due soon, just looking where to go this time, not impressed by the well know Hampshire one last year...

I've used Offord for the last 3 services on my Tuscan and have used them before on my Chimaera. Due to location (now) I'm going to look into either Dave Batty (The Garage) nr Guildford, or Andy at APM Automotive nr Liphook. It will be the 54K service (I'm on about 52500 at the moment!).

My servicing prices are all detailed in the "my cars" section of my profile. The dealer is Fernhurst in Surrey.

Prices seem to vary a lot but I suspect the quality of the service and parts vary too. PPC at Melton have been good for me and done a thorough job.

I use Green Star in Blackpool. Ex factory and good prices. £325 for the 12k service and £275 for the 6k iirc.

They will come and pick the car up for the cost of Diesel as well which is a bonus if you live a fair bit away.

My Tuscan has never run better than when they had it.

TorqueRVT - I pay £310+VAT for a 6K or £385+VAT for a 12k.

Valve clearences are checked on both services FOC.

Used other indies in the past and not been impressed. Dad was happy with the work done at RVT so continue to go there with both the Chim and the Sagaris, even though its a 300 mile each way trip.

Only other place I would go (NW/Midlands area as they are the areas I am in the most) would be TVR Power.

I dont think those prices are to bad??? It is a tuscan and does need to be serviced by a specalist, i see you have a older tvr which most people can work on themself..

From Pete's running costs - I'd say they were very reasonable for a TVR .. heck my Renault 182 has cost that much..

OK - he only does 4K a year and his annual service looks to be costing £650 but that is not bad for a years costs..

Why is it always cheaper up North frown

Prices tend to be more expensive at TVR "main agents" if such a place still exists! I paid in excess of £800 for a 6000 mile service at a "main agent" and was told that the 12000 mile service would be £1400. This was in 2006. I think prices overall have come down to more reasonable levels. I used Track V Road last year, great service, good price so I'll be going back there this year. One thing, don't just go on price, check the posts on here for info and then make a decision. We seem to be blessed with a lot of very good independents, long may it continue!

To add to the list I use X Works service in Kirkham.
The ex factory technicians are reasonably priced and service all my vehicles including my Griffith. Had some tyres changed between Xmas and new year. They had just completed a replacement chassis job on a chimaera. Looked the dogs nuts and reasonably priced I believe.

May one be bold enough to ask what you get for a 400 inc VAT 6 or 12K S6 service.

That is to say, is it manufacturers service shedule that is used? I would suspect not.

Buyer beware when buying something with a "Full Service" history...That is to say I would challenge anyone to make a reasonable hourly wage and contribute towards overheads from a factory schedule service with all consumables included for less than 350 quid. So in short I would suggest you're getting what you pay for, but its not a full 6 or 12K service.

As for shims done FOC? I struggle guys I'm sorry.

Model - Tuscan, Tuscan S, Tuscan 11, Tamora & T350
6000ml Service £299.00
12,000ml Service £500.00
Brake Fluid Change £46.80
  • Valve Check - SP6 3.6/4.0 £103.50
  • = Recommended every 12,000mls
I use Sebring International whos S6 schedule is as above. I totally agree with TVR_owner about the shims and talking with Matt at Sebring he said he can see no way that shims can be checked (let alone adjusted) in with the price of service - with the exception of the more expensive main dealer ones that is. He has priced his servicing as low as he can whilst maintaining the TVR schedule and believes that any lower would involve bits missed out.

Either way I only use him for all my servicing as do many other PHers.
