E34 ice warning bong - how to stop?
Discussion
I'm asking for a friend who has recently brought an E34 525 and due to global warming the low temperature warning sound is going off all the time.
Is there any way to stop it, some sort of button press thing or do you just have to live with it?
Or where is the bong noise coming from so I/he can cut the wires!
Thanks in advance.

I agree with starter of this thread. Listening to the ice warning get old after a while. I don't mind the snowflake icon but the dong is annoying. Driving around in the afternoon around hills you can easily come in and out of 3 degrees several times. The fact that the dong refers to all warnings (including flat tire) it always makes me jump.
Remove the trim panel above the pedals that covers lower part of steering wheel shaft - just a couple of philips screws. The sounder is mounted on the back, just unclip the two block connectors. 5mins, done.
This kills all the warning bongs though, so might not be a good idea if you're prone to walking away with the lights still on..!
