"Yesterday The Times decided to try to catch the ghost bus. At Ealing Broadway station, a ticket inspector denied that any such bus existed. When asked to check, he went into his office and returned three minutes later with a piece of paper headed: “Rail replacement bus. Internal document not for display or distribution.”
It stated that the bus would depart from stop “F”. At exactly 9.45am it duly arrived there. The driver regarded us suspiciously as we flagged him down. Once aboard Simon Houlton explained to us that he had been told not to expect any passengers. "

I'd love to get this each Tuesday, sit their without saying a word, then as I got off, ust give a polite "See You Next Tuesday" to the driver and ask him to pass that on to all his managment team etc too...

I was awoken by my "driveway alarm" going off at 4am Tuesday am, and looked out the window to see an ambulance creeping round the cul de sac, and a paramedic running up and down driveways with a torch. Worried about them struggling to find an ill neighbour, I got dressed and went outside to speak with them as I know mosy people in the village.
Imagine my surprise when the driver just said the name of a different street than he was in, but one that was in the village. When he said he was looking for #32 on this particlar street, I suggested he may have a problem as there are only three houses on it, so I asked him for the fmaily name they were looking for, (again as I know most people).....er, I dont know......he replied.
Oh well never mind, we'll head back to base, if it is important they will call again, we cannot waste all night here, we've been here 30 minutes already.....!
Next moring I contacted the Ambulance Service to ask about this somewhat strange incident. They did get back to me to explain it was not an emrgency, but a medical transfer, (WTF at 4am!) the adresss HAD been correct, but the village was not........When I asked how much this incident had cost the taxpayer, they told me it was not the issue....

Train service is unavailable so a bus service is provided instead, this frequently happens.
Don't know why no one is using it, unless the people that used the train service have not been informed of it.

The issue is it is a sham to cirumvent proper consultation on permanent withdrawal of the rail service it 'replaces'. Lip service to stop the operator acting unlawfully.Train service is unavailable so a bus service is provided instead, this frequently happens.

Regardless of the cheating, if the service is nothing but a money drain, I am not complaining if they axe it. Just a shame they are now wasting money on the bus.
But of course, if they axed the service properly, with consultation etc, it would have brought them all out the woodwork, complaining about the tragic loss of service....
They were screwed either way.

It's only a problem if the original users of the train service are not informed of its existence. When they say it is not timetabled at the stations, they probably (but haven't specified) mean the bus stations it stops at, that's not a problem as the coach's purpose is to provide an alternative means for those that wanted to use the train service, it is not a normal bus service.
Yes it would be useful for other bus users to be informed about it in case it's useful for them, but so long as the users of the train know about it, it's fine.
I took a coach from Swansea to London once and it was empty all the way except for myself, and that was mid-day, the same service also runs at 4AM, I imagine that runs empty sometimes, but it still has to run.
